Information we collect
Client consultation inquiries
When you contact an artist or request a consultation, we collect your name, email address, phone number, any notes you choose to write, the artist you are contacting (if any) and, if you send the inquiry from your Brow Blueprint results, the brow technique the Blueprint suggested. Please do not include health details in your notes that you do not want the artist to see.
Artist access requests
When an artist asks to join or claim a listing, we collect the request type, artist name, studio or business name, business email, business phone, city, state, primary brow technique, years of experience (optional), a professional website or Instagram link (optional), the listing being claimed (if any) and the artist's confirmation that they represent the studio.
Artist profile intake
Invited artists may submit a fuller profile: business and artist name, email, phone, website, booking link, Instagram and TikTok links, city, state, service-area notes, years of experience, price-range notes, certification or training notes, a biography, studio location details, license or permit details, services and styles, and confirmations about the authenticity of their portfolio work.
Portfolio and featured work
Portfolio image uploads are not yet available. When they are, artists will be able to submit images of their work, which may show their clients' faces. With an artist's permission, our team may also feature an artist's public Instagram posts on the site.
Verification information
To verify an artist, we check public license, permit and business records and may ask the artist to show supporting documents. We record what we checked, the result, the date and who reviewed it. If we ask to see a document, we use it only to complete the check and do not keep a copy.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we receive your name and email address, the contents of your message, standard email headers and any attachments.
Sign-in information
Staff and invited artists who sign in provide an email address and password, which are handled by our authentication provider. We do not see your password.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referring page and time of request, to operate and secure the site.
- Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which evaluates browser and device signals to tell people apart from automated abuse.
- Images. Site images are delivered from our storage provider, which logs the requests it serves.
What we do not collect
We do not collect payment card details on this site, and we do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics tools.
Brow Blueprint stays on your device
The Brow Blueprint asks about the look you want, your skin type and tone, lifestyle, previous brow work and some health-related screening questions (for example pregnancy or nursing, certain medications and skin conditions). These answers are processed in your browser and saved in your browser's local storage so you can continue later. They are not sent to us.
Saved Blueprint answers expire automatically after 14 days. You can delete them sooner by using the reset option in the Blueprint or clearing your browser's site data. If you send an inquiry from your Blueprint results, only the suggested technique is included, not your answers.
The Blueprint is educational. It is not medical advice and does not determine whether a procedure is safe for you.
How we use information
- To deliver client inquiries to the artist you choose and to follow up on requests.
- To review artist access requests and invitations, and to build, verify and publish artist profiles.
- To respond to messages, support requests and privacy requests.
- To send service emails about your request, invitation or listing.
- To keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Public artist profiles and images
Approved artist profiles are visible to anyone. A profile may show the studio name, biography, services and styles, city and state, studio location details the artist provides, website and social links, license or permit details the artist provides, verification status and approved portfolio images. Public information may be copied or indexed by others, including search engines and AI assistants, and we cannot fully control copies made outside our site.
Artists are responsible for having permission from any client who appears in an image they submit. If you appear in an image on our site and want it removed, contact us and we will review the request.
Emails, calls and text messages
We send service emails related to your request, such as invitations and listing updates. We do not currently send marketing emails. If we do in the future, each one will include a way to unsubscribe.
Phone numbers are used to contact you about your inquiry or listing request, including by the artist you contacted. We do not send text messages. If we add text messaging in the future, we will ask for your consent first and explain message frequency, costs and how to opt out.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, to resolve disputes, and to meet legal obligations. We may keep information longer when it is needed for a legal claim or required by law. Specifically:
- Brow Blueprint answers stay on your device and expire after 14 days.
- Artist invitation links expire after a limited time (7 days by default).
- Published artist profiles and the records of how they were verified are kept while the listing is active and for 24 months after it is removed, so we can answer questions about it.
- Client inquiries are deleted 24 months after the inquiry was last active.
- Artist access requests that are not approved are deleted 12 months after the decision.
- Email correspondence is deleted 24 months after the conversation ends.
- Records of privacy requests are kept for 24 months, as California regulations require.
- Server logs are kept by our hosting providers only for their short standard periods.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls that limit who can see each kind of record, and restricted administrator access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- delete your information, including an inquiry you sent or an artist profile; and
- stop using your contact details for any non-essential emails.
Email privacy@microblading.design with your request. We will confirm we received it within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and we may keep some information where the law requires or allows it. We will not treat you differently for making a request. Requests about information an artist holds after receiving your inquiry should also be sent to that artist.
California residents
If California privacy law applies to our handling of your information, you have the rights described above to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. You may make a request yourself or through an authorized agent, and we will verify the request before acting on it.
In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described in Information we collect (identifiers and contact details, professional information, communications content and internet activity in server logs), from the sources and for the purposes described in this policy, and disclosed them only to the recipients described in How information is shared. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
Children
Microblading.design is for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. You must be at least 18 years old to send an inquiry or request an artist listing. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date, and for material changes we will provide additional notice, such as a notice on the site.
